Leadership Team

“The tone of the leader becomes the music of the team.” -Charlie Bradshaw

The Leadership Team is elected by the congregation at our Annual General Meeting and each member serve for three year terms. Our Leadership Team represents the voice of our congregation and acts as a governing body to help guide and cast vision for Lake Ridge Community. The Leadership Team is accountable to Jesus Christ, and to Lake Ridge Community Church, working in collaboration with the ministry team. Leadership recognizes the affirmations of the Evangelical Covenant Church (our denomination of Churches). The Leadership Team meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.

OUR VALUES

Lake Ridge Community Church values the story of God and your story. Together we choose to serve, worship and live generously.

Story
We believe the Bible is God’s story of his redemptive work among God’s people and creation. These stories have a lasting impact on our lives today. We believe God’s redemptive work is still going on today and we have been invited to be a part of it. We also value telling our own stories in the hope of encouraging everyone to notice the working of God in their lives, regardless of where they are in their journey, and to choose to pattern their lives after him.

Authentic Community
We believe Jesus was deeply interested in doing life together. His willingness to accept others was demonstrated over and over to people of all walks of life. We will, therefore, seek to live in authentic community in order to experience Jesus ourselves, and also to demonstrate his love to others. We will place hospitality as a high priority as we see this as a primary way of listening to and loving others.

Generous Living
We believe that we have a generous God. God’s own son, Jesus, was a gift to his creation. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son…” (John 3:16). Jesus demonstrated to us a life of generosity by giving of his time, his talent and his treasures. In the end he gave his life for our spiritual freedom. So, we hold generosity as a value by choosing to give liberally of our time, talents and treasures to the service of others, being good stewards of all that God has given. Our prayer is that in doing so, all of the resources of God will be available to do the work of his Kingdom not only in our community but also around the world.

Worship
Jesus addressed the topic of worship as he taught about the condition of the heart. Seldom do we hear Jesus explain worship as a duty but rather a desire. Worship is our response to the transformation of our heart. It is our understanding that there are certain disciplines, which help us to discover and uncover our heart before God. Worship then is about creating space both privately and corporately to place ourselves before God.
