Dr. Preston Pouteaux
Pastor
Preston Pouteaux has served as a pastor to Lake Ridge since 2013. He has a deep love for Jesus and believes that we can know, follow, and become like Jesus in the midst of our ordinary shared life together as a church in our community. Preston studied at Covenant Bible College, Briercrest College (BA), Regent College (MCS), Tyndale Seminary (DMin), Jerusalem University College, and is ordained with the Evangelical Covenant Church in Canada (OWSa). He is a writer and contributor to Faith Today Magazine and Ekstasis Magazine, as well as the author of books including “The Bees of Rainbow Falls: Finding Faith, Imagination, and Delight in Your Neighbourhood.” He is passionate about being there for our front-line workers and serves as the RCMP Chaplain for our community. Preston’s great delight is his best friend and wife Kelly and their two girls, Scotia and Ivy.
“I am an orthodox and evangelical follower of Jesus, shaped by the missional movement and the pietistic heart of the Evangelical Covenant tradition. I stand joyfully within the great stream of Christian faith, rooted in the triune God, the saving work of Jesus Christ, and the living authority of Scripture. I affirm the foundational work of God in the life of the Church throughout history, receiving the shared faith of Christians across time as a vital source of formation, guidance, and encouragement. My evangelical identity expresses itself through a missional way of life — cultivating attentive presence, faithful witness, and active participation in God’s renewing work in the world. Formed by pietistic sensibilities, I cherish personal devotion, heartfelt trust in Christ, spiritual vitality, and the unity of God’s people. I seek to live as one grounded in the historic faith and fully engaged in the present moment — walking humbly, listening deeply, loving generously, and embodying the transforming grace of Christ in every part of life.”
