Why switch???

The name "Switch" for the youth student ministry of Lake Ridge Community Church symbolizes a pivotal moment in a young person's faith journey where they make the conscious decision to "switch" from simply hearing about religion to owning their own faith personally. This concept reflects the transition students face as they grapple with their identity, faith, and challenges like God's plan, chaos, and pain, ultimately choosing to follow Jesus for themselves. The brand "Switch" is designed to be relevant and engaging for 7th-12th graders, providing a safe, energetic, and fun environment where students can grow spiritually, find accountability, and be different from the world. It emphasizes evangelism and discipleship together, helping students both find and follow Jesus, while fostering key relationships with peers, leaders, and parents. In short, "Switch" means making a personal commitment to faith and is chosen to inspire youth to take ownership of their spiritual journey within a supportive community.

This isn’t just a youth group. This is a movement.

Our mission is to lead students to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

We’re more than a youth group—we’re a movement of students, leaders, and parents who are passionate about loving God, loving others, and making a difference!

What to Expect

We meet on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00pm.

We create a space where every student can belong, even before they believe.

At a Switch experience, you can expect:

Weekly time to bring us closer to Jesus and recenter on what matters most.

Before anything else, we want to show our students what it looks like to pause during the busyness of life and direct their attention to the God who is always with them.

Monthly fun events.

Youth meet on the last weekend of the month for a fun social activity. Cost, timing and location change month by month, but we’re making memories together, so join us for the upcoming adventures.
